Sheila Bora
Mahesh Bora

Shiela and Mahesh Bora have opened the doors of their family home and converted it into an incredibly charming homestay.

Shiela is a retired Professor of History from Dibrugarh University. She is credited with initiating a course on Tourism at the University. Having travelled twice as a Fullbright Scholar  to Harvard and Yale, she has a thorough knowledge of the history of the region. Shiela's father, Prabhakar Barua was the Chief Conservator of Forests for over a decade in Assam so the combination of history, wildlife and her own travels make interesting stories for guests in the homestay. Her warm welcoming smile and the delicious local cuisine she serves at the table is already famous worldwide!

Mahesh, on the other hand, is a retired mining engineer from Coal India and is now passionately involved with sustainable eco friendly projects creating handmade paper from elephant and rhino dung. He is also an avid orchid enthusiast and is proud to display almost 250 varieties of orchids in the property.

They make an ideal homely couple to spend a few comfortable nights in Guwahati.
